The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is in its third annual year working with Jay's Sporting Goods Clare location and their hosting a deer donation drive for Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger and benefitting the Food Bank Council of Michigan. The deer donated here as the past years, will be processed by Carson Village Market

 

Jay's Sporting Goods has once again donated a $500 gift card for the drawing to a lucky hunter who donates their deer at this event.

Northwoods Wholesale Outlet in Pinconning is also being added as a second location of a Michigan Department of Natural Resources  cooperative deer donation drive with the MSAH. The deer donated here will be processed by Michigan Smoked Meats.  Northwoods will also donate a $500 gift card for the drawing to a lucky hunter who donates their deer at this event.

This report is supplied by Louie Krick, MSAH Board member.  Zack Kosmerick, the 2020 winner of the Deer Donation Contest went on his hunt at Ted Nugent's Sunrize Acres on Oct. 23rd and Oct. 24th.  He had the opportunity to take either a ram or a hog and he got this nice 4 horn ram before 11:00 on the first day.  He came back on the second day for pictures with Ted. Ted gave a lunch for all from fish he had caught and venison sausage from his deer he harvested.   Ted played a few songs for all at a campfire.  Zack said he was very happy with his hunt."
